Wed. Poetry Prompt

I'm not a poet. I think I may have said that before. But, and I say this not meaning to sound

prejudiced, I do have friends that are poets. I've even eaten meals with them, at the same table and everything. Once, when I was in college, after a night of heavy binge drinking I tried on a black turtleneck and drank coffee and smoked jazz cigarettes. It didn't take. To this day, I don't drink coffee. I don't wear turtlenecks. And I don't usually write poems. But that doesn't have to mean that I don't respect those that do. This is America, and we have to come together and treat everyone as equals. Even if they write quatrains and pentaminers, they are human beings, too.
